Think and Grow Rich the chapter on “Faith”

After reading the chapter on Faith in “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, I felt compelled to share a little insight. In this chapter, Hill tells the story of Charles M Schwab who created billions of dollars from nothing but an idea backed by faith.

On December 12, 1900, the 38 year old Schwab gave a speech to approximately 80 millionaires in a lavish banquet hall in New York city. This speech turned out to be the single most significant episode in American industry. Schwab shared his vision with those 80 millionaires in attendance that night, as some of them looked down their noses at him. Schwab told in detail how the formation of The American Steel Corporation could consolidate and multiply the revenues of the steel industry. Schwab was warned that his lack of eloquent speaking skills may possibly bore the room full of Americas financial elite. But his faith was stronger than the ‘status box’ that society tried to lock him into.

“FAITH is the starting point of all accumulation of riches! FAITH is the basis of all “miracles,” and all mysteries which cannot be analyzed by the rules of science!”

It’s so extremely important to know and be reminded of the starting point. When things get complicated and crazy, the most common advise given is “get back to the basics”. When things get crazy in life, get back to the basics remember what you are doing and who you are doing it for. When things get crazy in business, get back to the basics focus on the mission statement.

I remember playing basketball as a young boy and one of the older boys pointed out to me, that when I go up for a shot “with confidence” (Faith) it usually goes in. As opposed to when I go up for a shot ‘not so sure’ of myself.

I missed that lesson back then, but I remember and understand it now some 25 years later. I’m still not much of a basketball player, but now I understand the concept. Faith is key to success.

Why You Should Read Your Polices and Procedures

Many people starting out in MLM or Network Marketing get involved in an opportunity because they believe in the person who presented it to them. That’s a great thing, but one should always do a little research on their own prior to getting started. There’s a good chance that the person presenting his or her opportunity might not be aware of their own policies and procedures. And that lack of awareness is now passed on to the new representative.

I have checked into the policies and procedures of a few different MLM companies and read with my own two eyes how some companies have contracted themselves the right to “terminate the relationship between the company and a representative at any time without reason”!

If I were to talk to the President/CEO of one of those few companies, I’m sure they’d say something like “we would never do that”. My response to a statement like that would be, ok, why is it there then?

I am a Network Marketer, I love this industry, I believe in it, and I am not in the business of bashing opportunities. In fact the vast majority of companies around are beyond excellent. But I just want to raise awareness to the fact that not all opportunities are operating in the best interest of the representatives. There’s no place for greed and ego in this business which is built on trust.

I believe in helping others.

Your Lack of Success is Not Your Fault

After reading many times about the high failure rate of Network Marketing, I decided to do some investigating of my own into this matter. I went and spoke with a few friends and family members who actually did “fail” in Network Marketing. It didn’t take much time to discover that they in fact did not fail at all. They quit!

Don’t misunderstand me, I am aware that there are bad people in Network Marketing… there are bad people everywhere. But there is a huge difference between quitting and failing. For the most part, at the conclusion of each conversation, the only reason given for the so called failure was “I quit” or “It wasn’t for me”. The fact is, the failure was not their fault. It was the lack of a system in place that can be duplicated.

In Network Marketing, I see an opportunity for the average person without much money to keep their day job and build and asset over time that can set them free. Free to earn more through profits and pay less in taxes. Free to decide when to retire rather than be downsized, let go, fired, or replaced.

If one is willing to go through a little personal development, they will love the person that they become down the road. The amount of money that can be potentially earned is not as significant as the control one can gain over their life.

There is a way to learn and go about building a life changing income through industry of Network Marketing. The first step is here in this free e-book:
