Cold Calling

Cold Calling – What is it?

Cold calling is known by many people in the world of sales as one of the most painfully unpleasant activities imaginable. First lets start with the definition of cold calling: The marketing process of calling prospective customers or clients, via telephone, who were not expecting such interaction. So technically buying MLM leads is not cold calling because those prospects requested to be contacted in some form by requesting more information about working from home etc… But that’s just my technical side chiming in, I don’t believe in trying to reinvent the wheel, so for the purposes of this topic, I will focus mainly on the MLM aspect of cold calling techniques. Telemarketers are perhaps the most well known and despised of all people who engage in cold calling. But the simple fact is, sales via telemarketing works… And the services or products being provided must do some people some good or the government would have implemented more aggressive strategies other than the do not call list back in 2005. Which requires telemarketers and sellers to compare call lists to the do not call list every 31 days and update their call lists to exclude any person or persons that desires no contact.

Cold Calling – Will it Help My Business?

A mentor of mine has personally sponsored over 500 reps in a 4 year period. Over 90 percent of those five hundred reps were strangers, and he sponsored them via cold calls of several types; purchased leads, social media leads, and SEO. Now, this guy is exceptional, so not everyone can produce those types of numbers, but the skill to produce your own great numbers are available to be obtained. So the simple answer to the question will cold calling help my business is a resounding yes! The statistics show that most people cannot build a sustainable business from buying leads. But, if one could develop some level of skill and comfort on the phone, they could sponsor some reps and the residual affects of acquiring those cold calling  skills could likely transform a person from a mediocre networker to a successful networker.

Cold Calling – How Can I learn it?

Learning cold calling requires three things: Posture, A Script, and Follow up. When I think of posture, I think about standing up straight. Well, that’s part of it but posture as it pertains to cold calling is mindset. An effective cold caller should have the mentality that whoever they are calling needs what you have to offer, not the other way around. This feeling of being needed and needy must be portraid to the prospect without being aggressive or rude. It’s a professional mindset of sorting through people not trying to talk them into joining your business. Here is a link to one of the most powerful trainings I have ever gone through on cold calling and posture. The next aspect is finding or developing an effective cold calling script. The initial call should be a brief, polite, and to the point greeting. Simply say who you are, why you’re calling, and let them know that you’ll be sending them and email with a video or whatever, and schedule a follow up call. Some people will try to get you to tell them right them, this is where posture comes into play. Stick to your plan, place value on your time and the information you are sending them. The second you let a prospect take over your call, your chances on sponsoring or selling to them goes down at least 50 percent. The third and final requirement is the follow up. Not much to say there, don’t expect them to call you. Quoting Jim Rohn, the fortune is in the follow up. I have training on my site that will help you along; training on my site.

How To MLM

How To MLM – Where to Start

How To MLM - For someone just getting started in Network Marketing or MLM, this how to mlm will serve as a guide that will help make things easier. There are numerous angles or ways to go about building your network marketing business and you should always be using at least three. With that said, none of them will work if you are a quitter. It doesn’t matter where you are now as far as confidence, skills, etc. All that matters is that you are willing to put forth the effort and investment in yourself to become the person that you would like to do business with. While it isn’t a good idea to go out spending thousands and thousands of dollars on training right away, it is a reality that all successful network marketers will include on their how to mlm list. Anyone can become wealthy if they first believe they can, and second start forming wealthy habits. Wealthy people refuse to doubt their ability to succeed and spare no expense when it comes to their training and education. Whatever number of hours you decide to dedicate to building your business, you should dedicate 15 minutes of personal development to every two hours of business building. For a few recommended personal development tools read this article on leadership.

How To MLM – Which Method is best?

I’ve heard a few people of varying levels of success downing one how to mlm method or the other, and that’s just unfortunate. All methods work, all methods just don’t work for all people. So, what are the methods? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Face to face is the best way to go if you are comfortable with it. If you’re not comfortable, you’ll eventually have to get there. This method is easier if you have a large social or professional network (the type of person that will make how to mlm much easier for your team). For instance if you are a doctor or lawyer and are apart of all of their professional associations, still in touch with a good percentage of your High School classmates, joined a Fraternity in college, are recognized as a leader in your social circle, and /or made tons of friends in the Military, then this method will probably work well for you. While it’s impossible for anyone to deny the effectiveness of face to face as a how to mlm method, some are not as effective at it as others. A few of the other methods include, attraction marketing, purchasing leads, social media, pay per click, telephone broadcasts, posting flyers, direct mail, email, or newspaper ads, the list goes on and on. In this day and age, the information age, some will say that a few of those methods are outdated, but if you know what to say and how to say it, you can have some how to mlm success.

How To MLM – Where do I begin?

Where to begin? I personally recommend starting out with the warm market approach. You never know until you try. If you don’t have success with that approach, don’t give up on it, continue to practice until you learn how to mlm. I would next recommend generating some leads via social media, craigslist, and start working on attraction marketing. Attraction marketing is somewhat difficult until you’ve reached a certain level of expertise on something. I would first start out with Magnetic Sponsoring. MLSP (MLM Lead System Pro) is a complete education and how to mlm system set up for you and ready to go. Master the MLSP system, and life will be much easier. Whatever method you choose, always remember that your focus determines your reality. If you focus on success and helping others, that’s what you’ll have. Make it all about not finding yours but helping others learn how to mlm.

Leadership

Leadership – What is it?

In the MLM industry and business of all types, it is said all the time “this person is a leader” or “that person is a leader. More often than not, the person being referred to as a leader is a top producer sitting at the highest position in whatever opportunity he or she is a part of. One could mistakenly think that a leader is one who enjoys massive success. That is true in most cases, but only in part. Massive success is but a consequence of the process that one undergoes to become a leader. Being a leader doesn’t necessarily make you a good person either. Think about it, was Adolf Hitler an effective leader? You betcha he was… he just used his  leadership for evil rather than good.

A leader is one who has focus, many talented people jump from company to company, strategy to strategy, etc…. never staying focused long enough to master one thing before moving on to another. Look at the late Steve Jobs and Apple. Apple dominated the PC industry during the 1970′s and 1980′s. Shortly after Jobs’ departure in 1985, Apple fell off into obscurity. In 1996 Jobs returned to Apple as CEO leading with a new philosophy, “recognizable products and simple design” i.e., the iPod and eventually the iPhone. The music industry, mobile / smart phone industry, and the world was forever changed. Thank you Mr. Jobs.

Leaders understand the importance of disciplining their disappointment. In life, people will disappoint, that is part of the human condition.

“ If your happiness depends on what somebody else does, I guess you do have a problem.”    ~Richard Bach~

Leadership – How Does One Learn it?

The U.S. Marine Corps teaches 14 leadership traits that all Marines must have:

  1. Justice – The practice of being fair and consistent.
  2. Judgement – The ability to think things through clearly.
  3. Dependability – Can be relied upon to perform duties properly.
  4. Initiative – Taking action even though you haven’t been given orders.
  5. Decisiveness – Able to make good decisions without delay. Get all the facts and weight them against each other.
  6. Tact – Can deal with people in a manner that will maintain good relations and avoid problems.
  7. Integrity – Honest and truthful in what you say or do.
  8. Enthusiasm – Sincere interest and exuberance in the performance of your duties.
  9. Bearing – Conduct and carry yourself with alertness, competence, confidence, and control.
  10. Unselfishness – Avoid making yourself comfortable at the expense of others.
  11. Courage – Remain calm while recognizing fear and having the inner strength to stand up for what is right and to accept blame when something is your fault.
  12. Knowledge – You have acquired information and taken the time to understand people.
  13. Loyalty – You are loyal to the people around you.
  14. Endurance – The mental and physical stamina that is measured by your ability to withstand pain, fatigue, stress, and hardship.

Just reading through and applying those 14 traits is just about all one would ever need to become an effective leader. All successful MLM leaders spend as much time and money on educating and developing themselves as they do building their businesses. Leaders understand one important fact, they are their business. Prospects join leaders not companies. The biggest fact to recognize the next time you are watching a leader speaking on stage, and thinking “I could never do that”, is that underneath that expensive suit or dress, are battle wounds from years of pain and rejection, the same pain and rejection we all felt when we made that first call to recruit someone into our business. A leader knows that pain creates strength and rejection is Gods protection.

Leadership – Where Does One Begin?

My personal recommendation for one seeking to develop themselves as a leader is to take action at day and development at night. Leaders add value to others, the only way to do that is to first add value to yourself.

Start out with these books:

  1. The Holy Bible
  2. How to Get What You Want (audio) – Zig Ziglar
  3. Building Your Network Marketing Business – Jim Rohn
  4. Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill
  5. The Magic of Believing – Claude Bristol
  6. Dare to Dream and Work to Win – Dr. Tom Barrett

Brilliant One Minute Presentation

One Minute Presentation – What’s the Purpose?

I’ve heard numerous times about the need to have a one minute presentation also known as the elevator speech, ready to go at all times. But no one ever broke down what to say and how to say it for me. I’m sure people all around the world have been banging their heads against the wall trying to figure out what to say to pique a prospects interest, I know I have. The problem is, many networkers are spewing out way too much information. We must remember the golden rule… Keep it simple! For instance, do we really need to go telling our prospect all about our organic, vegan products, or our state of the art telephony system? No! We don’t… They don’t need to know that stuff yet, if they join you in your business, all that stuff can be shared in training. Do they need to know all about our compensation plan… No, they haven’t even started yet, and must Network Marketers don’t understand theirs that well anyway.

One Minute Presentation – What it Should Cover

There are only three basic questions in our prospects’ head that we need to answer in our presentation:

1. What kind of business are you in?

2. How much money can I make?

3. What do I have to do to earn that money?

So, here’s an example for lets say… someone in the health and wellness industry:

“Hey Bob, I can give you a complete presentation but it would take an entire minute.”

“When could you set aside a whole minute?”

Naturally most people will say now here, because we are not trying to drag them to our opportunity meeting or show them our 20 minute DVD.

So after we get a “right now”, we say:

“Don’t change – continue to promote and recommend as you always do.” Like talking about the great restaurant you visited, or the new pillow you just bought.

“We are in the Health and Wellness business – we have product that has me feeling like I’m 19 years old again. All you have to do is recommend our product to 15 people helping them feel younger and more energetic, and help one person a month get started doing the same, and you’ll earn $100 per month” (or whatever is consistent with your comp plan).

One Minute Presentation – How to Close it

STOP and close with one simple line:

“What do you think?” or “And that’s it!” or “And the rest is up to you!” Something simple like that.

At that point, if you aren’t already getting questions, change the subject to something totally unrelated. Something about them.

Watch the magic happen…

Imagination

Think And Grow Rich
Chapter 6
Imagination

The work shop of the mind and the fifth step towards riches.

How does one go about developing an imagination that will serve useful
in creating riches? One must first overcome the biggest challenge in the
history of mankind. And that is deciding exactly what one wants. It’s
not enough to just want riches. How do you imagine riches? Probably
not the same way I do. We have to be specific. Since we are only limited
by our imagination and there is so many choices to imagine, how does
one decide what one actually wants? Sadly enough most never do.
Have you noticed they are too busy deciding what they don’t want, just
look around.

1st Law of Imagination is to let it be about WHAT you want, never about
what you DON’T want.

For anybody that has read any of my previous lessons, you no doubt
have noticed that I relate heavily to things of the metaphysical and
spiritual nature. I know you’re probably pondering, how I’m going to
relate metaphysics and or spirituality in a way to benefit the imagination?
Ponder this; if you only see it in your mind, does it really exist? And on
the other hand, did it exist before you started looking for it?

Coming from a law enforcement prospective sometimes it’s easier to
understand something when I relate it to the law. In order to obey a
law we first have to know that it exist and then we have to understand it.
The law says that ignorance of the law is no defense for a person who
breaks the law. And we all know what happens when the law is broken.
Chaos reigns…

The same law holds true for imagination. Visualization is the process
of creating mental images in the mind. The image is the die or mold
that will serve as a pattern from which we shall manifest our reality.

The law of imagination goes like this; the pattern or mold should be
as detailed as possible. It should be beautiful; it should be fearless
and grand. One should always be aware of one’s limitations, and
understand there is none except for the self-imposed. Understand
we are never limited by material cost because we draw from the
universal supply. Understand that we must first build our desire into
our imagination, before it will ever appear anywhere else. It must
be constructed with clarity and detail as if it were already manifested
before you, design it with smell, sounds, lighting, colors, textures,
expressions, with every curve angle and square and then hold it
firmly in our mind. This process will gradually and constantly bring
the thing nearer to us. By using our imagination we can be anything
“we will to be.”

For example…

Nikola Tesla probably the greatest inventor of all ages, was the
man who discovered alternating current, and harnessed Niagara
Falls has brought forth the most amazing realities ever. Tesla always
visualized his inventions before attempting to work them out. He never
rushed to embody them in form and then spend his time correcting
defects. Having first built up the idea in his imagination, he held it
there as a mental picture, to be reconstructed and improved by his
thought. “In this way,” he writes in the Electrical Experimenter. “I am
able to rapidly develop and perfect a conception without touching anything.
When I have gone so far as to embody in the invention every possible
improvement I can think of, and see no fault anywhere, I put into concrete,
the product of my brain. Invariably my devise works as I conceived it
should; in twenty years there has not been a single exception.”

One aspect we humans have in common that no other creature possesses
is FREE WILL. Free will to do, be, come and go at will. This is another
psychological fact which is well known, but unfortunately, just reading
about it will not bring about the desired results one may have in mind;
it will not even help to form the mental image, much less bring it into
manifestation. Practice is necessary – labor, hard mental exercise, the kind
of exercise which so few are willing to put forth. There lies the real power
of imagination.

I have a mental exercise that I employ that helps to improve my imagination
into a sharp, detailed mental picture. Start by sitting in a comfortable
position and then close your eyes and begin visualizing a friend, someone
you know very well, see her exactly as you saw her last, see the room, the
furniture, recall the conversation, now see her face, see it
distinctly, now talk
to her about some subject of mutual interest; see her expression change,
watch her smile. Can you do this? All right, you can; then arouse her interest,
tell her a story of adventure, see her eyes light up with the spirit of fun and
excitement. If you can do all this your imagination is good, you are making
excellent progress. If not be patient and keep practicing, Rome was not
built in a day.

Respectfully so,
Frank LooSer (Sarge)
